The DryFix Terracotta Tie was developed specifically to secure fragile terracotta facings and delicate decorations and features which have become loose or are suffering from stress fractures.
It has an 8mm diameter over the majority of its length with a short 10mm section at one end to grip the soft terra cotta without enlarging the pilot hole.
It is installed in the same manner as standard DryFix ties to provide a rapid, reliable and concealed solution.
- Does not stress or fracture fragile substrates.
- Requires only a small diameter pilot hole.
- Easy to install and fully concealed.
- No chemicals or expansion devices.
- Withstands cyclic loading.
- Accommodates differential movement.
- Usable in all weathers and temperatures.

A small pilot hole is drilled through the terracotta and into the backup material, to a predetermined depth, using a rotary percussion drill (3-jaw-chuck-type). |
The tie is power driven into position (with SDS hammer drill) until the outer end of the tie is recessed below the face of the terracotta by the special insertion tool. |
